Swift Institute of Nursing celebrated International Nurse's Day


Florence Nightingale is revered as the founder of modern nursing. Her substantial contributions to health statistics are well known and to inoculate this spirit of human service in its students, Swift Institute of Nursing celebrated International Nurse's Day to mark the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale. The whole celebration began with the reciting of 'Saraswati Vandana' by the nursing students which was later on followed by the lamp lighting. Dr .Saroj Parwez (Principal Swift Institute of Nursing) welcomed the chief guest and unfolded the theme for Nurse's Day - "Closing the Gap: Millennium Development Goals".

On this occasion various programs and competition like Model exhibition, Quiz competition, Singing competition and Dance competition were organized. Students gave tough competition to each other. Dr. Saroj and Ms Reny Thomas (Vice Principal Swift Institute of Nursing) felicitated the winners of the various competitions. Addressing the students Dr. Saroj, Principal Swift Institute of Nursing said nursing is a profession which focuses on the care of individuals, families, and communities so they may attain, maintain, or recover optimal health and quality of life, so we as health care professionals have a much bigger role to play in the coming years".

Greener the environment, Happier the life


Green and clean environment is what we all need. Being a Socially responsible community, we at Swift Group of Colleges believes that academic institutions can play a major role in making students more environment conscious. And what could be best way to tell them the importance of green and clean environment than a tree plantation drive. With this aim of spreading awareness amongst the students about the environment preservation, Swift institute of Nursing organized a tree plantation drive at its Rajpura.

The Plantation drive was initiated by the nursing teachers which were accompanied by the students. All the students' enthusiastically planted more than 1000 trees and vowed to preserve the environment and keep it clean and green. On this occasion teachers of nursing college told the students about the importance of preserving environment and how by our small but very important efforts we can save the environment from degradation.

Closing the Gap: Millennium Development Goals


Swift Institute of Nursing has celebrated International Nurse's Day on 10th May to embark the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale - The Founder of Modern Nursing. Dr VK Arora (CEO Academics SGOC) was the chief guest for the occasion. Dr Saroj Parwez (Principal Swift Institute of Nursing) welcomed the chief guest and unfolded the theme for Nurse's Day. Program started with the worship of almighty god by reciting Saraswati Vandana followed by Lamp Lighting. Various competitions were held to mark the occasion like Model exhibition, Quiz competition, Singing competition and Dance competition. Prize distribution was done by Dr Saroj Parwez (Principal Swift Institute of Nursing) and Ms Reny Thomas (Vice Principal Swift Institute of Nursing). Program ended at warm note with vote of thanks.
