World Cancer Day (4th Feb 2012)
Swift institute of nursing village Ghaggar Sarai organized an awareness rally in the village Ghaggar Sarai on the occasion of World Cancer day on 4th February, 2012. The rally was flagged off by Dr. Saroj Parwez (Director- Principal, Swift Institute of Nursing) and Brig. G. J. Singh (General Manager, Swift Group of Colleges). The theme for World Cancer Day, year 2012 was "TOGETHER IT IS POSSIBLE".
The Principal emphasized that together it is possible to fight against Cancer. The college faculty and students participated enthusiastically in the rally. Further, Health education was delivered by students regarding various aspects of cancer i.e. its causes, signs & symptoms, prevention and treatment to the people gathered at the Anganwadi center of Village Ghaggar Sarai. The students also used banners and posters to provide information regarding cancer. The people had shown keen interest by asking questions regarding cancer.
The rally was appreciated by the village sarpanch S. Tarlok Singh as well as the village residents.
REPORT ON INAUGURATION CEREMONY IN THE INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT & TECHNOLOGY
An auspicious beginning is always made by invoking the blessings of the God Almighty. A Havana Ceremony was performed on the auspicious occasion of the inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed block of Swift Institute of Management & Technology on 8th of February, 2012.The Havana & puja ceremony was attended by the President of the Group,Dr.G.Munjal,CEO(Academics),Dr.V.K Arora,Campus Director,Dr.Suresh Seth, Principal Pharmacy,Dr.Abhey Dharmasi,Principal Nursing,Dr.Saroj Parwez,Prof.Dr.Shaan,Head Administration,Dr.Maninder & other members of the faculty & students.
Its a matter of pleasure for us that all the students actively participated with utmost devotion & made this occasion a memorable one. The Havana Ceremony was followed by a Talent Hunt Show in which students exhibited spellbound performances in various categories like Extempore, Debate & Speech Contest, Solo Singing, Group Dance, and Collage & Poster making to name few.
A large pool of talent was identified during the contest which we hope would bring laurels to the college in various Intercollege & Interuniversity Youth festivals in the times to come.
