Swift Group Of College celebrated Diwali with enthusiasm. On the occasion, students and teachers lighted lamps and candles and also worshiped Goddess Lakshmi. Dr. G.Munjal, President of the college and Dr Maninder, Asst. Director threw light on the importance of the festival. Students presented colorful program and enthralled the audience. A rangoli competition was also organized and students participated and won different prizes. At the end sweets were distributed among the faculty and students.
World Pharmacist Day 2017 Celebrations
Swift School of Pharmacy on 25th September 2017 organized a programme on the Occasion of World Pharmacists Day. Programme was coordinated by Pharma Buds with full enthusiasm and joy which was attended by students from both B.Pharma and M. Pharma. The event was rolled on by inaugural speech by Dr. A.M.J Newton (Director- Principal) who highlighted the importance of celebration of World Pharmacists Day marking the day as tribute to fellow pharmacists across India and the world.
This special day was established by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), the global federation of national associations of pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists which is in official relations with the World Health Organization. The main objective of celebrating the Day was to update the knowledge among the students, awareness of common people regarding proper use of medicines, preventive measures against diseases and overall development of healthcare system. Pharmacist community is one of the three main pillars of the healthcare system with doctors and nurses being the other two. We believe that this celebration will be a boost to the pharmacists as healthcare providers and a recognition for their relentless services to the mankind and Pharmacists have a vital role in the outcome of pharmacological therapies and ultimately strive to improve patients quality of life.
SGOC celebrated World Alzheimers day on 21st Sept 2017
The Nursing Students and Staff of Swift Institute of Nursing,Ghaggar Sara,Rajpura , celebrated - World Alzheimers day on 21st Sept,2017 . It is a day on which Alzheimers organizations around the world concentrate their efforts on raising awareness about Alzheimers and dementia. Alzheimers disease is the most common form of dementia, a group of disorders that impairs mental functioning.
For the same cause students participated in an awareness poster exhibition held in college campus. The poster exhibition covered about the definition, causes, risk factors, sign and symptoms, stages and management of "Dementia". The programme was started by welcoming the chief guest Dr. G Munjal and elderly people from nearby villages who were especially invited for the programme. Poster exhibition was inaugurated by Dr . G Munjal and he emphasized on care of individuals living with dementia, their management and treatment in his speech .
A play was also enacted by the GNM,Bsc.Nursing,Post Bsc .Nursing students for educating rural elderly audience regarding signs and symptoms, reasons, risk factors of Dementia along with caring needs of patients. A very good response was received by the audience.
Tree Plantation at SGOC
Tree Plantation program was held in Swift Group of Colleges, Rajpura on 15-sep-2017 with great fervor. Dr. Gopal Munjal (President), Dr. Maninder (Assistant Director), faculty members and students participated in this celebration and went to plant sapling in college premises. Dr. G. Munjal encouraged students to plant more trees and take care of their plantations thereafter. He said that every day should be treated as Van Mahotsava and plants should be grown to keep the environment green, clean, safe and healthy. Dr. Maninder had also explained about the trees and the importance of tree plantation. She said, "God first created trees and vegetation and then men and animals because the former sustain life."
