Campus Interview for BSc Nursing final year students.

Swift Group of Colleges (SGOC), Rajpura had organized campus interview on 8th August, 2019 at their Swift Institute of Nursing (SION) for BSc final year students.

The interview was conducted for Medanta Hospitals, Gurgaon. Students had appeared for Job Interview which included Technical and General round of questionnaire. It was quiet a good exposure for students and faculty alike. The recruiters seemed very happy with the clear & prompt responses by students. Later in the evening, it was informed that maximum students have been selected for induction as trainee nurse in Medanta Hospitals and would join in October this year.

Dr Munjal President Swift Group of Colleges congratulated the selected students on their achievement and appreciated the staff for this.

guest lecture on Pharmacovigilance

Swift School of Pharmacy, organized a guest lecture on Pharmacovigilance for final year B. Pharmacy students. Dr. Manish Kumar, introduced the speaker Dr. M. Wasif Khan, Head, Global Phamacovigilance, Evolet Healthcare Pvt. Ltd.

Dr. Khan is closely associated with Govt. of India for National Pharmacovigilance Program. Dr. Khan shared his experience with the students and gave detailed presentation on scope of Pharmacovigilance. It was a very informative and beneficial seminar for the students as well as for the faculty. At the end of the program, Mr. Nadeem Khan, HOD, presented vote of thanks to the speaker and Mr. Anshu Gupta, Principal Incharge felicitated him on behalf of Swift School of Pharmacy.

Swift School of Pharmacy, celebrated World Hepatitis day

Swift School of Pharmacy, celebrated World Hepatitis day. The theme of the programme was Find the Missing Millions - 2019 for this year. Students and faculty members enthusiastically participated in this programme. The event began with short introduction on hepatitis by Ms. Sonima Prasad, B.Pharmacy 3rd year student. Further, the programme was continued and focus was on various aspects related to hepatitis such as:

1. Raising awareness of the different forms of hepatitis and how they are transmitted
2. Strengthening prevention, screening and control of viral hepatitis and its related diseases
3. Increasing hepatitis B vaccine coverage and integration into national immunization programmes

The students of B. Pharmacy, Ms. Preet Kaur, Ms. Mandeep Kaur, Mr. Ramandeep Singh, Mr. Vivek Jha addressed the audience regarding the awareness about types of Hepatitis, its symptoms, prevention and treatment. The students also presented posters related to the theme of the event.. The event was concluded by Respected Principal sir, Mr. Anshu Gupta with informative words to aware students about the ailment. He emphasized on the significance of healthy lifestyle for the prevention of disease.
At the end of the session, Principal Sir appreciated the participated students and organizing faculty members for arranging this event on a short period notice.

lecture on Future Prospective in Pharmacy

Today in Swift School of Pharmacy, a special lecture on Future Prospective in Pharmacy was delivered by pharmacy faculty. The lecture was specially organized for final year students. In this lecture Ms. Pooja Sharma, Associate Professor, told the student about the scope of pharmacy and made a discussion with students about their future plans. Well modern pharmacy profession has number of ways to mould the career.

They can go for R&D, F&D, Toxicology, Clinical and Preclinical trials and clinical research, Quality control and assurance, IPR, DRA, biopharmaceutics, kinetic studies, marketing, Teaching professional and also in Information technology (as medical writer etc.). A person with pharmacy graduate can also go for Drug inspector, Government Analyst which are government jobs. So, lot of fields and vacancies are available for Pharmacy graduates.
In the lecture, Dr Sushma Devi, Assistant Professor (Pharmacology) and Ms. Manpreet Kaur, Assistant Professor (Pharmaceutical chemistry) summarized that Pharmacy is the health profession that links the health sciences with the chemical sciences, and it is charged with ensuring the safe and effective use of medication. The scope of pharmacy practice includes compounding and dispensing medications, and it also related to more modern services like patient care, including clinical services, reviewing medications for safety and efficacy, and providing drug information.

At the end of the session, a question answer round was held to clear the queries of the students.
