World Health Day - 6th April,2012


Swift Institute of Nursing (constituent of Swift Group of Colleges) organized a camp in village Ghaggar Sarai on 6th April, 2012 emphasizing on the theme "Ageing and Health: Good Health Adds Life to Years" followed by a lecture-cum-discussion session that discussed problems of present scenario of old age & its effects, Role of senior citizens pertaining to society.

The function was glazed by two lively role plays that were performed by our meritious students. The play delivered a message that it is the responsibility of each one in the society to acquire awareness pertaining to healthy habits & salubrious environment that needs to be inherited in young age which would ultimately lead to good health in the later age and also motivated the youth& maneuvered them into positive direction by making them realize that "Life is Precious" & should not be degraded by getting indulged into awful habits like smoking and drinking etc.

The negative aspect of this life was portrayed to them for their better understanding of importance of gift given by gracious God. This function encouraged an interactive session that comprised of old age problems & their solutions & concluded on a very healthy note.

GUEST-LECTURE ON VALUE ADDITION TO MEDICAL PROFESSION held on 22nd MARCH, 2012


Swift Institute of Nursing (SION) , Constituent of Swift Group of Colleges organized a Guest lecture on "Value Addition to Medical profession" on 22nd March, 2012. A very commendable & motivating lecture was delivered by honourable chief guest "Dr. Subhash Sharma" who is the first Laparoscopic Surgeon of Haryana, conducted 22000 surgeries till date and presently running his own clinic in Panchkula.

Dr. Subhash Sharma discussed about the importance of adding values to medical as well as nursing profession. His lecture was an interactive one which included various issues related to patient care and he very beautifully quoted some practical examples as well. He also shared few of his personal life experiences & expertise mainly relating to professional ethics and moral values.

This interactive session inculcated lot of interest among the students & also enhanced their knowledge in this aspect. The students' participation in the discussion made the session even more successful. His refined knowledge & expertise cleared all practical doubts of students pertaining to patient care related moral issues.

Pulse Polio Campaign: 19th, 20th & 21st February 2012


B.Sc. & Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing I year students of Swift Institute of Nursing also participated in National Pulse Polio Campaign & volunteered themselves for this esteemed service & catered to all infants & children below the age of five in Rajpura & adjoining places.

Their efforts were highly commendable & appreciated by medical officers & hospital personals of civil hospital Patiala.
