Free cardio-diabetic check-up camp organised by Swift Group of Colleges in association with Ind-Swift Ltd on 29th September 2012


The Swift Group of Colleges in association with Ind-Swift Limited organized a free cardio-diabetic check up camp at Jat Dharamshala, adjoining Lakshmi Narayan Mandir in Sector 6 here on Saturday to commemorate World Heart Day. This camp was organsied to provide free medical aid to the residents, which included various checkups like blood pressure, blood sugar level etc.

Two well renowned Doctors of the city Dr. Aditya Rattan (cardiologist from Heart Line 24X7) and Dr. Dr. S.K Mathur (Diabetologist from DiaHealthcare) examined patients and provided them free consultation. Dietician Ms. Isha Chopra was also at hand to guide patients on what to eat and what to avoid, this diet plan further helped the patients to keep the track of their diet and live healthy life. This charity act was highly praised by the residents as they benefited out of it.

Nurse's Day celebrated on 11th May 2012


Swift Group of Colleges always encouraged its faculty and students to celebrate various national and international days. Nurse's Day is one of the nation's largest health care event, recognizing the contributions and commitments nurses make and educating the public about the significant work they perform. Nurse's Day is celebrated on 12th May each year, the birth date of Florence Nightingale. Swift Institute of Nursing celebrated Nurses' Day on 11th May 2012 with the theme: "Closing the Gap: From Evidence to Action". Dr. V. K Arora (Dean, SGOC), Dr. Saroj Parwez (Director-Principal, SION) were Chief Guest of the day. The function started with remembering Florence Nightingale by lighting the lamp followed by competition of Rangoli, Mehndi, Poster making, Collage making, Quiz, Singing and Dance. Dr. Saroj Parwez unfolded the theme and shared her enrich experience with students. Prizes were distributed to the winner students by Dr. Saroj Parwez followed by refreshment .It was great occasion for the students as well as for faculty.

Blood Donation Camp organised on 16th April 2012


On 16th April, 2012 Blood donation camp and pulse polio campaign was organized by Swift Group of colleges. The event started by the reception of chief guest S. Ajaib Singh Mukhmailpur (ex- minister, Ghanour). Honourable chief guest inaugurated the event. Students from SGOC participated for the blood donation and 43 units of blood were donated. A team of doctors and technicians came from Rajindra Hospital for the collection of blood. Polio drops were given to children below 5 years of age during pulse polio campaign at SGOC campus. Students of Swift Institute of Nursing performed cultural program. During the event S. Ajaib Singh applauded the efforts made by SGOC and motivated the present for more events of human welfare. The event concluded on good and positive note.
